Yet another night in at Miss A's house with the girls (guest A, N, B, J, H and myself). Host A is luckily situated just off bustling Brunswick Street in Fitzroy; I am insanely jealous of her living location, so close to Babka's bakery and Gertrude Street and all that it entails. She'd only just gotten a dining table, so invited us all over for dinner and drinks.
Dinner was Spring Chicken, recipe courtesy of the gorgeous Nigella Lawson. I thought this was a great recipe, very light and tasty with peas, spinach and celery mixed in. Look it up, it's great. Served with golden tatties and a green salad. Brilliant.
(many of these were finished also)
Dessert was chocolate mousse with orange (think a jaffa but in mousse form) and fresh raspberries. Our hostess with the mostess (yeah, I said it) A, like me, doesn't like strawberries, so I was relieved to see these little beauties instead.
After a game of pictionary, we headed out onto Brunswick Street (it was a wonderfully balmy Spring night) and into the Workers Club for some pints and more chat. Smooth.
Sounds like a very satisfying meal! Oh, and Brunswick St is like my second home. ;)
